Then on 21 March, the first day of spring, Aries kicks off the new cycle as the first sign: direct, bold, and impatient.

What is my star sign if I was born on the cusp date in March?
On the 20th and 21 March, it is not the calendar but astronomy that decides: the Sun changes signs at a different hour depending on the year, and the transition can shift by up to one day. Anyone born on those dates needs their birth year and, ideally, their birth time to know for certain. The free star sign calculator checks this in seconds. The Ascendant calculator also provides your Moon sign and Ascendant.
What are people born in March said to be like?
Few months span a wider range: from the gentlest sign to the most fast-moving one. Pisces-born in March absorb and allow, while Aries-born jump in and charge ahead. The vernal equinox on the 20th/21 March is also the very reason the zodiac begins with Aries in the first place.
Frequently asked questions about the star sign in March
How many zodiac signs are there in March?
March has two star signs: up to 20 March it is Pisces (beginning 19 February), and from 21 March onward Aries begins (until 19 April). On the two cusp dates, the birth year and time of birth are the deciding factors.
Which star sign is born on 21 March?
According to the usual calendar dates, the sign of Aries begins on 21 March. However, the transition can shift by up to one day depending on the birth year and time. Anyone born on the 20th or 21 March may therefore also be a Pisces. The only way to be sure is to calculate using the birth year and, wherever possible, the birth time.
Why do some lists show a different date for the March star sign?
The Sun does not change signs at the same hour every year: the transition varies by up to a day because the calendar year and the solar year are not exactly the same length. That is why calendar lists round differently. What always counts is a calculation based on the specific date of birth, including the year and, ideally, the time.
