- Damaged or defective book? We will replace it free of charge with a new print or refund your purchase price. A photo sent by email is usually all we need, and you do not have to return anything.
- Digital books (ePub, PDF) are created specifically for you; the right of withdrawal lapses once production begins. The statutory warranty naturally applies to any defective files.
- Gift vouchers can be withdrawn within 14 days, as long as they have not been redeemed.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used, within 14 days at the latest.
Damaged or Defective Books: Free Replacement
Every printed book is made individually for you and carefully packaged. If your book arrives damaged or has defects (for example, damage in transit, printing or binding errors, or missing pages), the statutory warranty applies (§§ 434 et seq. of the German Civil Code): we will send you a flawless reprint free of charge, or refund your purchase price if you prefer.
Here is what to do: within a few days of receiving your order, send an email to info@kosmosgenie.de with your order number and one or two photos of the damage. A return shipment is usually not required. In the rare case where one is necessary, we will cover the return postage.
If your book contains incorrect information due to an error on our part (for example, a wrong birth chart despite correctly entered data), this also counts as a defect: we will correct and reprint it free of charge. If you accidentally entered incorrect data, please get in touch anyway, and we will work together to find a fair solution.
Digital Books (ePub, PDF)
Your book is calculated and written individually for you immediately after your order is placed. During the ordering process, you explicitly confirm via a checkbox that we may begin production right away. This means the right of withdrawal lapses once production starts (§ 356 para. 5 of the German Civil Code). You can find full details in the withdrawal policy.
Regardless of the above, the statutory warranty applies to digital products (§§ 327 et seq. of the German Civil Code): if your file is damaged, incomplete, or contains incorrect information due to our error, we will deliver a corrected version free of charge, or issue a refund if redelivery fails.
Personalized Products and Right of Withdrawal
Printed books are made to your specifications (name, birth data, dedication). Under § 312g para. 2 no. 1 of the German Civil Code, no right of withdrawal exists for goods made to customer specifications, so returns “without reason” are not possible. Your rights in the event of defects (see above) remain unaffected by this.
Gift Vouchers
You may withdraw from a purchased gift voucher within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason, as long as it has not yet been redeemed. Simply send us an informal email or use the “Withdraw from contract” button in the footer. Once a voucher is redeemed, the right of withdrawal lapses; for value vouchers, a partial redemption of the balance is sufficient for this to apply.
Refunds
We will issue refunds promptly, and at the latest within 14 days of our decision or receipt of your valid withdrawal, to the original payment method used (e.g., PayPal). No fees are charged for refunds.
